Party, because on February 17th, we're bringing the Brazilian carnival to Markt Centraal monumental hall!
The Brazilian carnival, also known as "Carnaval do Brasil," is one of the largest and most vibrant carnival celebrations in the world. It takes place in the period leading up to Lent, usually in February or March. The festivities officially start on the Friday before Ash Wednesday and end on Tuesday evening, known as "Fat Tuesday" or "Mardi Gras."
What is Carnival without samba?
Samba music is inextricably linked to Brazilian carnival. And that's exactly why Samba Roots will fill Club de Ville again with their stirring rhythms and vibrant melodies. Roda de Samba - standing still is not an option.
What is Carnival without Costumes and Masks:
Costumes play an important role during the Brazilian carnival. People wear colorful, imaginative outfits, often adorned with feathers, sequins, and glitter. Masks are also popular and add to the festivities. So, come especially well-dressed. Kiki will be there again to paint the most beautiful decorations on your faces and dress you in the finest glitters!
What is Carnival if you're not there?

The Central Market Hall is only accessible with our train, the Markt Centraal Express. This departs from the gate of the Food Center Amsterdam at Jan van Galenstraat 6. The Markt Centraal Express shuttles from 18:00-03:00.
The Central Market Hall is accessible with a wheelchair, and there is also a disabled toilet in the hall. Unfortunately, the train is not accessible for a wheelchair. If you come with a wheelchair, please let us know in advance. Then we will register you with the porter of the Food Center Amsterdam.
In case of cancellation up to a week before the event, a refund of the paid amount is possible minus €2 costs per person. In case of cancellation in the week before the event, unfortunately, a refund of the paid amount is not possible.
